I was thinking about getting on the IUD, and i got some answers back saying "forget the IUD it is not good, get the Nuva-Ring", but i want some more info on that now! How does the Nuva-Ring work, how do you put it in (does a doctor or do you do it your self)? How long can it stay in for? Thanks for the answers!

I have no personal experience with the Nuva Ring BUT when I was doing my research on the perfect birth Control for me. I didn't like the Idea that the nuva ring MIGHT fall out and is more likely to fall out during sex. and if left outside the body for 1 hour or more looses effectiveness. Also you may have spotting in between periods. It may take up to 12 months to regain fertility Soooo, with that said I was 19 and a mom 2-2 under 2 and in college so I wanted a fool proof birth control (or close to) I have a problem where I cannot take HIGH doses of hormones so the depo was a horror story and the patch was milder yet similar to the depo! BIG NO NO 4 me. The best thing has been the Pill and the IUD for me. Why do you think the IUD is a not good?

First answer these questions:
Do you have children?
Do you have 1 partner and are in a monogamous relationship?
Do you have a history of ectopic pregnancies?
Do you normally have heavy painful periods?

1st off they recommend the IUD for women who have carried atleast 1 child full term since their uterus are slightly larger than a woman nulli (never had kids)

Having multiple partners buts you at a high risk of infections and infections are the #1 reason why IUD cause infertility. Bc an Infection is very hard to treat with an IUD in place.

IUD DONNOT cause Ectopic pregnancies however they arent to good at preventing them so its adviced a woman who has had a previous ectopic pregnancy not to have an IUD in place

If you normally have heavy or painful periods stay away from Para Guard (non-hormonal 10 y.o IUD) since this model is known for causing them to be slightly heavier and slightly more painful.
Mirena is known for decreasing the flow and cramps (20% of women dont geta period while on the IUD)
The IUD(99.99%) is more effective than tubal ligation (99.95%) and is reversable unlike any other birth control on the market with the IUD you regain fertility the instant it is removed.

I attempted the department and I attempted Nuva Ring. I hated the Depo all it did was once made me moody and reap weight, plus I had a interval 24/7. Also, the Nuva Ring fell out and I realize that sounds loopy however I aroused from sleep within the core night time and felt humorous down there and it had fallen out. I did not like placing it both. However, if you're constructive you're performed having infants I might suggest essure. I had it performed. You must seek it on the net. I went in a single afternoon and by means of tomorrow I went Christmas searching. Very little healing. I was once a bit sore within the belly, nevertheless it was once realistic and I do not need to fear approximately any injuries or some thing anymore. Just an choice, however you need to be certain you do not desire anymore in view that its everlasting however high-quality in view that you probably have youngsters at house it's an outpatient factor and you do not need to be clear of them (a million hour prep, 30 minute surgical procedure).

you have to put it before your period ends and you take it out at the same time on the same day three weeks later. You leave it out for a week and start over.

I had it and put it in with a tampon applicator.

I also didn't like it at all. It made me have super bad cramps and I understand this is very common.

I hear Yaz is really good

I've been using it for 2 years and haven't had any problems. You put it in your self and it actually made my periods shorter. You need to ask your dr. if its okay, but my dr. let me leave it in for 4 weeks and then my period stopped unless I took it out after 3 weeks.

You put it in yourself. You have to have a prescription for it. You leave it in 3 weeks out for a week and put a new on in. I have heard you either love it or hate it.
