don't forget your Network Interface Card (NIC) is probably a 10/100 MB card which means you CAN'T get higher than 100 MB/sec

When ISP advertise high speed at a certain bit rate, that is the download speed. Most ISPs have their upload speed capped at 128 meg or 256meg.

100Mbps is a wrong speed! That's not possible for consumer, are you refering to 100Kbps? For DSL 768k isn't 768k in download speed, bytes are calculated different, divide it by 8 and that is what you should see as your download. You said get 96kb download speed.

you getting a 100mbps betwen the modem and your pc no the pc and the internet, and there is no such thing has a 700mb internet connection.
if u have slow speeds call the isp.

just because you have cable doesn't mean everyone does
if you connect to a server that is on dsl or dial up you will be affected by the slower speed

i'm not an isp. how dare you accuse me of such things? dial up = 56Kbps. M=1000K. 100Mbps is much faster than dial-up.
