When America was founded by George Washington and his crew, didn't they try a make a free country? Liberty and all that?
So, when the conservatives say 'preserve old values', isn't one of them actually to be liberal?

No. George Washington was the most conservative man ever born. And Peace, Liberty and the persuit of Happiness is not take care of everyone by giving them a handout. Back then people worked and worked hard, so if they did get some help from their fellow farmers and settlers they deserved it. Now a days people think they deserve getting something just because they spread their legs and had a baby.

Insofar as the Founding Fathers were liberals in the classic sense of the term, you're correct.
That being said, Eighteenth Century liberals would find today's version as alien as Klingons.

What Conservatives mean about "old values" is bringing back corporate royalist and one religion ran government and a small if any middle class that could rise to power or to shorten it up, turn "We the People" into 'We the Corporations"

They just don't want any new values. It might have been the liberals who came up with women's rights, voting rights, civil rights, child labor laws, and unions, but they quickly forget that. They don't want any new values or ideas, even though history proves that new values and ideas are healthy for a country.
