It will work, but if your willing to drop the money on the new system, it might be time to drop the money on a new age tv... you only play games so often, but with a new tv, you would not only enjoy it when you play games, but also when you watch tv!

You can head to Best Buy and put a decent hd tv on a best buy credit card, and not pay interest for 6 months, that gives you plenty of time to chip away at it, while at the same time being able to enjoy your new games the way they were meant to be played

Boy the media sure have messed everyone up with this (laugh) I'm not laughing at you, but the way the media is stating you need an HDTV to play next gen consoles, you don't. Any decent TV will do. The systems are geared so that the graphics will appear "optimal" on HDTV, but I can't tell to much difference myself other than less grainy, but only if you look for it. Feel free to plug that console into your regular TV and you'll be fine.

wait, put off! Shouldnt you be asking why you're paying for a plasma television! and do they make 23 inch plasmas? i dont understand you may want to opt for to study your television slightly extra! My suggestion get a great samsung or a great sony television! liquid crystal reveal, no longer something else! And if you're taking section in video games on it, get a guaranty. And convinced having an hdtv makes a distinction! in certain situations, regardless of a guaranty businesses wont conceal plasma's! and for a at the same time as they werent reliable for taking section in video games on. i imagine they could have fastened that yet liquid crystal reveal are a lot nicer than plasmas!

yes but you wont see the hi-def. Dont buy a ps3 as this focuses strongly on the fact you have a hi-def tv. (blu-ray). Thats why you pay more, buy a xbox360, users are much more catered for also.

all current consoles (including ps3 and the wii) will work as long as your tv has RCA , Component, digital or SVHS connections (you may have to buy extra cabling for certain connections)
