Neil Peart. Get yourself an early Rush album, and block out everything except the drumming. It's unbelievably intricate and bold and sublime all at once. It's not just thump thump twang, thump thump twang.
Mind you, Dave Grohl is the best ever drummer-turned-lead-guy and he's sexy as hell too.

Ringo. He is very under rated as a drummer. The truth is, he's not the greatest in the world, but he has a lot of talent. He had a unique way of playing, no other drummer played like him. Ringo also has a great personality and is a wonderful performer. If you get a chance to check out one of his All Starr concerts, go and enjoy a great show.

"Fast" Eddie Hoh, who was a session drummer in the 60s, played with Donovan, The Monkees, and others
Chris Franz from Talking Heads
Pete Thomas from Elvis Costellos bands, The Attractions and The Imposters
Andy White, who has played with Dylan, all four Beatles in solo projects, Elvis Costello and others
Rpger Taylor from Queen.

Ulrich , Lee, Bonahm, or Pert All good drummers.
Bonham played single bass and made it sound awesome.
Pert is just a genius.
Lee is a showman to beat all showman.
AND Ulrich is....... hes just plain good.
Whos the drummer for Slayer? Cuz hes damn good too.
