i have to go tomorrow and have a biopsy done because my pap came back abnormal. i am FREAKING out. All i know is that they're cutting a triangle shaped piece out of my cervix. I am so scared and nervous right now. Any experiences? Thanks

I've had it done a couple of times and it really isn't that bad. You will feel a little pinch but it isn't painful at all. You might have some light bleeding afterwards and maybe a few mild cramps but all in all, it's a piece of cake.

Kim, the procedure is very quick and simple, standard for an abnormal result. It is done as much to eliminate the likeliehood of cancer as it is to detect it. Try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know) You will feel a little groggy afterwards if they give you a relaxant, it won't hurt roo much- maybe a little uncomfortable (definitely not in major pain).. it hurts like a horrible cramping feeling,but then it is over after a few minutes. Then you wait for the results of that to come back. Good luck!!

Relax!!!! you have to wait until the doc tells you.....can be abnormal for few things infection, fungus etc. that's why you need a biopsy a larger pice to test more......just take a deep breath wen he will do it......
