The tie is not solid brown. It is modern looking with curved white and gold curved striped down it. It has dark brown on one side of the front and light brown on the other half of the front.

This is the first season (to my knowledge) that you "CAN" mix black and brown. Go for it!

It depends on what shade of black, what shade of brown, what color are your pants, and any jacket you might be wearing. Black and brown can be worn together when they both have the same, or similar, undertones. A blue-black shirt with purple-brown accessories can look wonderful, but trying to pair a blue-black shirt with yellow-brown accessories is going to clash badly. And even if the brown and black complement each other, the pants are a big factor too.

If it was up to me, I would just say be safe, and avoid the outfit.

Brown shoes don't work well. The comedian George Goble said on the Tonight Show (During Johnny Carsons time) "Do you ever feel like life is a tuxedo and you are a brown pair of shoes". Take then to the shoe repair and have them dyed black. Then they will go with anything. Happy hunting.

Honestly, I do not think Black and Brown go together, sorry. A rule of thumb: no black and brown, no black and blue. Maybe take the tie, shoes, and belt and pair it with a tan or gray pair of dress pants, or a brown pair of cords. Pair the shirt with gray pair of dress pants or nice pair of jeans

Good Luck

I guess a lot of people will say that it does not work. But... I think a man that wears black is incredibly sexy. Brown accents could work.

And your pants are what color? N-O on jeans...
And is there any black at all in the tie? Shoes need to be the same color as pants...

You know what? forget it...it's no good.

You cannot wear black and brown together. It is a fashion faux pas.
