And before you all start yelling 'What you waiting for? Why you still on the computer?' - it's because this happens a lot, and I've called the police before .... last time I did it though, the woman who was being beaten up told me to butt the hell out. I don't know how she knew it was me that dialed 999 but whatever.

Anyway, the reason I'm umming and ahhing is because they have a toddler.

By domestic do you mean hitting or just yelling? And if the toddler is in danger of being hurt YES!!! CALL!!!

I have walked in those shoes before & it's a dificult decision to make. I say start talking to the female & try beeing her friend if at all possible, because that probably what she really needs. You know some woman stay even thoug they get beaten as you witnessed yourself. & the police won't do much but ask her if she wants to be taken to a hospital & depending on which state this is in the state will press charges or ask her if she wants to.
Anyway, not much will happen, the only way this will stop is if the woman choses to make an end to this. And maybe she is laking the confidence or god knows what, so my advice to you try to talk to her & be ginuine & be a friend and maybe that alone will make the difference.

That's a tough one, the police never should have told them where the call came from - it probably makes you want to stay out of it. BUT there's a child involved who can't protect them-self and is probably very scared. I'd call if I thought the toddler was in danger - as for the adults (you already tried to help her) let them do their thing.

I learned my lesson with this...had a cop across the street letting their toddler run the streets. The baby couldn't even talk yet....I called and reported and I had cops harrassing me constantly and this couple threatened me and assaulted me. I told the police at that time, that I had learned my lesson. I will never report another child in distress. It always comes back to haunt you...don't do it

Gee, you are definately in a lose lose situation there. If they are violent by nature nobody could possibly blame you for not calling. However, I completely understand your concern for the child. Poor little blighter, growing up with this garbage it doesn't take a lot of imagination to picture what kind of partner the child will be someday.

I was a foster parent fpr 15 years. The Mother is neglecting the child when she is busy being beaten by his neglectful father ,that cant supervise the child because he is being distracted by the neglectful mother because she wont quit warding off his fists.
sounds like a good life
or not
the baby is terrified of living. his window is so tiny. protect the baby. and be the adult
call 911 and quit letting the neighbors confuse you.

It is a hard situation and the woman may have told you to butt out but the toddler deserves a normal home life and not one filled with hate and violence. Do what you feel you should.

Domestic what? Servant? Fight? Are they just yelling, or is one of them getting physically abusive with the other? Are there children involved? File a complaint about disturbing the peace, but do it when it is going on. How would you feel in one of them winds up dead and you could have prevented it? Or, one of the kids got killed? If you could live with that, then stay out. If not, do something!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there are weapons involved or it looks like somebody is getting really hurt, then call the cops. Otherwise stay out of it.

Or if you like them and care, make a cake, then go over there and interrupt and bring the cake. Maybe offer to babysit or something.
