I had breast cancer in my left breast about 21/2 years ago...had a mastectomy. All my lymphs were clear but the doctor wanted me to have 4 chemo treatments just as a procausion. Earlier this year I had my reconstruction with a silacone implant on my left breast. I also had my other one lifted...Now I'm experiencing pain the good one...could I have cancer again? I'm presently on Temoxifan (I have to take it for 5 years) It feels like its burning, with pinching. I keep feeling for lumps but there's nothing there. Could I have pulled a muscle or something? Or is it cancer? I'm scared!

I am also a breast cancer survivor, no one but a doctor is qualified to tell you if it could be cancer or not. Also, not all breast cancer developes a "lump" per se. My breast cancer was 1.8 cm and could not be felt. Call the doctors office and let them know your situation and the fact that your having alot of anxiety gover it. Generally they will get you in right away. Regarding Tamoxifen, all drugs work different for all types of people and dieases, feel confident your doctor has made the right decision. Most doctors have alot of experience treating people with BC. One other note, I had a doulbe mastectomy with TRAM reconstruction and saline implants. My last surgery was in July. I started to experience some burning and dull pain. It went away and didn't come back. Also, for a real piece of mind, see if your insurance will cover a PET scan based on your history. This is a great test where they will scan from your head to your thighs to check for cancer. I had one after my treatment and there is no sign of cancer. It helps me through each day knowing that the PET scan is clear. Good luck to you!

If you have any cancer at all,The cancer cells feed on the Temoxifen untill the cell gets soo big that they burst then you really have a problem. The burning and pinching sounds like a open cut. Even the dummest doctor wouldn't put a person that has had cancer, on temoxifen.

Since there are no lumps it is probably not cancer but since you are very worried and you are having some symptoms in the breast see your doctor and get this checked out.

Honey, don't live scared. Stress & fear are not going to help you at all. See your doctor right away - it is most likely nothing to worry about, but after all you've been through, you need to be able to enjoy every moment & not spend time afraid of the unknown. Good luck to you!

If your entire left breast was removed it can't be breast cancer. In order for breast cancer to develope there has to be breast cells.
