honesty is a relative concept and i would refrain from overmoralizing it. we may easily come up with instances when telling the truth may not result in a greater good. for instance, take the case of a family housing a jewish child during wwii. when the nazis knock on the door and ask whether you are providing safe haven for a jewsih person, telling the truth seems like a bad idea.

It's not possible to have absolute honesty completely. Honesty is not the goodness given that honesty can sometimes killed. As long as your words don't produce negative consequences, then it's all good. Absolute honesty should only be practice in a society where everything is good and perfect. There's no place like that on this planet. ..haha..So lie when it's appropriate and tell the truth when is right. The hard part is figuring out which one is suited best for a given situation.

I do think sometimes people can be too honest with someone to the point that it hurts them. For the most part, though I don't think you can go wrong with honesty. You know what they say..."honesty is the best policy"

Well yes but there is more in dishonesty. Excessive honesty is not always prudent. The thing about dishonesty is that you have to remeber what story you told to whom, and that is hard. Just use judgement

Be honest is the best way to go . If you lie , it will come back . Then you have to lie again and again , until you have to tell the truth . By that time you have lost the trust you once was given , and you hurt the person twice as bad.
