Some ballpoint ink stain removal can be accomplished by sponging clean using alcohol. If this ink stain removal technique doesn't completely remove the stain, try acetone (except on acetate). If acetone doesn't work, try amyl acetate. The other alternative is to use a bleach which is safe for the fabric. To remove a ballpoint ink stain from leather garments, rub petroleum jelly on the stain. Leave for several days, then wipe clean.
Caution: don't put the item in the dryer or hot iron, as this can set the stain.

If the ink is on the dryer drum, you risk transferring it to your clothes with every load. If you have to replace the drum, you might as well get a new dryer unless you are able to do this or hire someone and still be cost-effective. I'd relegate the clothes to the rag bag, as the stain has probably set in from the dryer heat. You can try liquid cleanser, as dry as possible so the liquid won't enter the dryer through the air holes, and use a scrubbie or SOS pad, but it sounds like you'd never be able to get off all the ink to normal satisfaction so that clothes wouldn't pick up residual ink. I'd be looking for a new dryer.

My son did a science project on this. It turns out that hairspray does work (the kind in the pump spray bottle worked best). Believe it or not, milk also worked to remove ink stains from clothing.

Try Amodex and a Mr. Clean magic sponge.

You can look up Amodex on line to find out where it is sold near you. This stuff is amazing.

Good luck.

I'd probably take it to a dry-cleaner...just to avoid ruining my pants.
