Seriously, as many talented people as there are, showbusiness sucks as there are NO GUARANTEES, no job security whatsoever. There is plenty of talent too, so expect competition.

Unions, if you are interested in TV/Film work, you would have to become a member of SAG or AFTRA, it's a double edge sword. Casting calls, open auditions, tryouts for stand-up's...expect competition and learn to deal with rejection.

That's for starters.

However, if you decide to try this, do it for the love of it and for the fun of it, work hard but don't expect too much, and it might be a good idea to have a real job and education on the side.

Pay is crap. Education isn't a requirement. Benefits range from groupies to sitcoms to alcoholism. Depends on how talented you are and a little luck.
