Can I use the physical address of the post office followed by the box number as my mailing address?

For example instead of

PO box 123
Erica, IL 09890

Can I use :
1234 Patrick Ave. #123
Erica, IL 09890

To make people believe that it is an actual address and not just a PO Box?

You don't want to do that! What can happen is that the new computers look at the address and will know that "Patrick Ave." does not have an address like that and will barcode it for somewhere else, who knows where else and it will be delayed or returned. Trust the nice Letter Carrier. I see this problem all the time because of the address composition in the apartment complex I deliver.

YES.

This was taken straight from the United States Postal Services' website.

Handling mail with dual addresses

When a mailpiece consists of both a street address and a PO Box address on two lines, the intended delivery address (only) should be placed on the line directly above the city, state, and ZIP Code™. The ZIP Code or ZIP+4® Code must correspond to the intended delivery address. U.S. Postal Service® priority will be to attempt delivery to the address immediately above the city, state, and ZIP Code. (This line will be the bottom of the two address)

If a street address and a PO Box address are placed on the same line, the ZIP Code, or ZIP+4® Code must correspond to the PO Box address. US Postal Service will attempt delivery to the PO Box address.

In the following example, the mail would be delivered to the PO Box address:

JOHN W DOE
222 WALL ST STE 500
PO BOX 985
NEW YORK NY 21212-2222

I don't think so, but why are you trying to make people believe it's an actual address? All I can say is mail yourself an envelope the way you're suggesting and see what happens.
