That IS funny. And what's great is that you have to have more training to work at a tax prep service than to work at the IRS (low-level) answering the phones and YOUR tax questions.
In response to the person who says it's not the fault of the IRS, and taxes are low in the US anyway, I say this: IS there some reason the government, or those on welfare, or the people researching cow flatulence DESERVE the money I EARNED? People talk about their "take-home" pay as if it's the part you're allowed to keep, but nobody talks about the "ripped off" part of the pay. It's all nice and tidy while they use your money all year and don't let you have access to it 'till you file your return. OK, I"m going to quit in the middle of my rant to take a kid to ballet, but please don't let people tell you that you don't pay "that much" in taxes. You pay too much. We all pay too much, even if we get all our withholdings back. We pay by not having our own money to use as we see fit... Social Security rant next time :)

To be fair no because it's not their fault...that's like trying to put a gun in jail instead of the person who pulls the trigger.

It's our politicians' fault for setting the tax rates and enabling the IRS to collect. Taxes aren't that high in the US relative to other places anyway, it's the way the government wastes the money on inefficient ideas more than anything else (like the Alaska bridge to nowhere or perhaps that damn 700 billion dollar war in Iraq).

Try calling an IRS service center these days, they are so nice to you, it's scary!

That's why they say there's only 2 things certain in life, death and taxes. Even after you die, you have to pay a tax for that too.
