How can i get my dvd to work on my computer?

the dvd has data on it, but for some reason its not playing back on any dvd machine, is there a way i can copy the data and reburn it to a disc to get it to work? can i retreive it?

If you have a Dell xp computer than go to media player put your DVD in then it should show up. If you have a Gateway computer then It should be a system where you can play your DVD. Automatically your DVD should play once you stick it inside it should come on.
