I have two fender amps on is a pevey 5150 half stack, and one is a champion 110. Plus I have a Marshall JCM 800 lead series. You can use your acoustic guitar with both, but the a two very different amps. Fender is a high end, high gain, very bright and twangy amp that is great for country or an Eddie van Hallen sound of music and has a clean and distortion channel. Its nice if you don't want to use effects pedals. The Marshall amp is the amp to own for a heavy deep kind of metal sound with a 100wt head, but only comes with one channel. you can buy Boss metal Zone effects pedal to chance from a heavy distortion sound to a clean sound on this amp. I love the Marshall amp and recommend you try one for your self. Artist such as Zakk Wylde, Slash and many other guitarist use this amp for their sound.

Thirty watts is not a lot of power especially if you are going to be playing in a band. 100 watts is what I usually use. The best way to find the sound you want would be to go into a Guitar Center or other music store and try out everything they have till you find the one that meets your needs. Also, if you're in California, Carvin makes good amps. They have their own stores.
