Yes, chickens do, in fact, have sex. I don't want to get into the hot, steamy details but the cockral basically mounts the hen and...they do it. Sperm fertilizes the eggs in the hen before the shells have formed on them...the egg shells form whether they are fertilized or not, so that's why not all chicken eggs are fertilized.

Sperm has to meet the egg somewhere along the way to make baby chickens, and this is done through "chicken sex" lol

As in the famous words of ex-president Clinton, "define sex?"
You need both a male and female chicken in order for the eggs to become fertilized to make baby chicks. Otherwise the eggs are unfertilize and will never produce chicks.
Now if your talking about the act of sex like humans....that's a different story...called the "birds and the bees"!

Hi Miss Happy Jolly,

Yes they can, and yes they do.

That is where the Rooster or Cockerel come into play.

Good question,

+++ to all above. But do not try to brood the eggs we buy in the shops, no chicken would hatch out, because the hens lay them without cockerel’s participation!

A cockerel’s first job is to wake up early in the morning and to piss off everybody in his vicinity.
His second job is of course to copulate with hens and thus to produce their offspring.
(And his third job is to taste good in the stew or roasted)

Of course chickens have sex, like most other animals of a certain complexity.
