go back to the establishment where you purchased it from and they should have a copy of the form you filled out which has the tracking information you will need. they can probably just reissue you another one. i had the same thing happen and the bank i bought it from was able to help me.

The number on the bond is registered by the federal government in your name. Go to www.usbonds.gov and they have a whole section on what to do about lost savings bonds. They will probably issue you a duplicate bond with the same number as the one you lost. You won't be able to cash them both in, if you find the other one, because they will have the same number on them.

Savings bonds are paid to the bearer. Keep looking!
