Since when did having a brain become a bad thing?

Its not a bad thing, you just need to know how to use it to your advantage. In school the nerds are at the bottom of the food chain because they're not typically athletic, fun or social... so they get picked on by the average kids who are trying to define their social status.
Don't worry. The intelligent and intellectuals get the education, good job, nice car and big house. You'll see the jock again when he's doing the framing for your 6 bedroom house.

I would say jealousy. And i don't think being smart is a bad thing. It's the nerds and intellectuals who make the good money.

They have, and always will, a need to exercise their supposed "domination" over others. These people will never get it into their medieval little brains that intellectuals will always make more money than they. I have always looked up to "nerds" and other intellectuals because I've always wanted a gift like that. I am smart, but those guys make it look easy. See ya.

I don't think people dislike intellectuals. It is all reative though. Depends on somebody's character.

Jealous. Also the nerds as they are called don't really exist anymore. This isn't the 70's or 60's.

It's not a bad thing, but people are afraid of what they don't understand and very smart intellectual people are scary to most of us "average" people.

It seems with brains comes a dip in looks and personality (unless we're talking about myself). People don't mind their 'brains' they mind their ugly faces, poor dress sense and their overall feel of superiority - which shouldn't be a factor considering the first two problems.

Here's the problem; intelligence is something you are born with. Those who are not as intelligent as others know that there is no way that they can ever be on the same level with those people and feel inadequate. And we all know that insecurity breeds jealousy and anger.

Because people are stupid. Having brains is awesome as well as SEXY!!!! Look at the reality show "Beauty and the Geek". I think being brainy is ultra-cool. Go forth and be SMART! :)
