Great question...I think it stems from the East Coast bias love that ESPN had for Parcells when he was with the Giants and now that has followed him to Dallas.

You would think that Tony Romo is the next coming of Otto Freakin Graham...enough already.

I believe it was after the Cowboys beat the Colts when, instead of praising the Cowboys for salvaging their season and handing the undefeated Colts their first loss of the season, the jerks on ESPN more or less simply stated the Cowboys won, but spent the whole segment talking about how good of a job the Colts did but just couldn't pull it together. How about dishing out some praise for the team that beat them? The Colts blew a perfect season, move on and give some praise to the team that deserved it, the Cowboys. ESPN, biased or not, simply tells whatever story the country wants to hear. Right now, America wants to believe in America's team again, and with Romo in and Bledsoe out, they have every reason in the world to be in love with the Cowboys again.

ESPN, especially in recent years, is biased towards a handful of teams, basically the New York, Boston, and Philadelphia ones. I don't really think their coverage of the Cowboys is positive or negative (unlike the Patriots, Giants and Eagles, who according to ESPN should be 14-2 EVERY YEAR), just reflective of the fact that for a lot of the country, they're the most popular team.

Beacuse it's America's team boy. When you tell someone about the NFL they will 4 out 5 times say the Dallas Cowboys. It's just like when someone says MLB....Yankees is what comes right after.

My response is that ESPN reports on the fresh stories. Right now, Tony Romo is the "it" guy of the moment, and in fairness, the Cowboys are 8-4 and confortable ahead in their division.

If you think back to the beginning of this season, when Bledsoe was starting and there were problems with TO, ESPN was actually extremely critical of the Cowboys. It works both ways.

even with the actual shown truth that i'm a Cowboys fan I agree. not large Bowl champs, yet really a good shot on the playoffs. Plus it makes all you yahooers bypass nuts and positioned them down because they're the perfect crew traditionally interior the NFL.

I don't know that they kiss their butt as much as they just cover the hot stories. It's not ESPN's fault the Cowboys are kickin' everyone's a** right now.

They know which teams bring in the highest revenues; which pays the bills in the NFL, in turn pays the bills at ESPN

For the same reason why they kiss the Yankees and Redsox butts so much...these are the most popular teams among sports fans (generally speaking of course).

it's all about tv ratings and hype. controversy sells! terrell owens is a media sweetheart.

same could be said about the steelers. they suck this year, but they are still put on national television all the time.

medicore teams like dallas, nyg, pittsburgh are getting far too much attention..

meanwhile, sleeper teams like SD and KC seem to be under the raidar.. but come playoff time, the networks will be forced to pay attention to them!
