I was a bondsman fo 40 years, If you want to be a bounty hunter you have to go to work for a bond co. A person charged with a crime has bail set by the judge. Lets say $10,000. Mother or a good friend goes to a bondsman with something worth more then then the amount of the bail, and 10% cash.for the $1000. the bond co posts a bond to the judge promising he will appear in court at a date set by the judge,If the person charged does not show up for court at that time the person who bought the bond worth $10,000. has to pay cash to the court. The bond co. has to pay it. The bond co keeps .what ever the good friend put up that was worth $10,000 AND goes out and apprends the person that was charged for the crime. And takes the person that was charged to court. For that the Bounty Hunter gets normal $1000. Thats 10% of the bond. The bond co is the one that hires the Bounty Hunter almost aways the bond co. has a bounty hunter on staff. Please feel free to Email me if you need more detailed info.
