Democrats alway point as one of Bush's failures to the fact that jobs are going over seas.

Maybe, but as pointed out by any economist or even anyone who has a clue about the situation, it paves the way for more skilled, and thus, higher paying jobs.

The problem isn't outsourcing, its lack of education and training, which I and many fiscal conservatives have been saying for a long time.

Let the thumbs down begin, but at least read the article before you judge.

Thanks MOM, for proving that you don't have the time to read the article.

Thank you also for providing me with 2 specific and very small portions a very large and diverse economy.

BYW, this is not a conservative source of news. It is merely reporting that manufacturers are having trouble finding both skilled laborers and people who are willing to learn the needed skills.

Again, caveman. I'm pretty sure that
1) I never said jobs are not going over seas.
2) Is "call center associate" really one of the jobs that will be missed? - Pay attention.

Now the politicians are sayin' "send
in the Marines to secure the area"
'cause they don't give a ****. It
won't be their kid over there, gettin'
shot. Just like it wasn't them when
their number got called, 'cause they
were pullin' a tour in the National
Guard. It'll be some guy from Southie
takin' shrapnel in the ***. And he
comes home to find that the plant he
used to work at got exported to the
country he just got back from.
And the guy who put the shrapnel in
his *** got his old job, 'cause he'll
work for fifteen cents a day and no
bathroom breaks.
Meanwhile my buddy from Southie realizes
the only reason he was over there was
so we could install a government that
would sell us oil at a good price.
And of course the oil companies used
the skirmish to scare up oil prices so
they could turn a quick buck. A cute,
little ancillary benefit for them but
it ain't helping my buddy at two-fifty
a gallon. And naturally they're takin'
their sweet time bringin' the oil back
and maybe even took the liberty of
hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes
to drink seven and sevens and play
slalom with the icebergs and it ain't
too long 'til he hits one, spills the
oil, and kills all the sea-life in the
North Atlantic. So my buddy's out of
work and he can't afford to drive so
he's got to walk to the job interviews
which sucks 'cause the shrapnel in his
*** is givin' him chronic hemorrhoids.
And meanwhile he's starvin' 'cause every
time he tries to get a bite to eat the
only blue-plate special they're servin'
is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State

So what'd I think? I'm holdin' out
for somethin' better. I figure I'll
eliminate the middle man. Why not
just shoot my buddy, take his job and
give it to his sworn enemy, hike up
gas prices, bomb a village, club a
baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join
the National Guard? Christ, I could
be elected President.

The days of the factory workers in this country are coming to an end. Most want the tech careers that require no strenuous activities. The manufacturing jobs need to raise the wages appropriately with the high skilled wages since both require a skill. The brilliant idea of work harder for less is a thing of the past. It went out with the boomers.

Pushing this story as the "proof" and not a micro analogy is ludicrous. I would agree that jobs that have gone overseas is not the greatest problem facing our economy, but you have to admit that there are jobs that were moved overseas or to Mexico that used to be done here for a fair wage. There are products made elsewhere for slave labor that are sold back in the States for 400% mark-up. I kind of think that money that is invested here, earned here is spent here and that those industries based on that philosophy benefit all. Building and Manufacturing elsewhere to be sold here for tremendous profit can only benefit the few.

Being a union electrician in Detroit our industry has been a disaster for those of us who work out of the Hall with a work-share philosophy. I'm at the top of my game, and yet, my local has only been able to provide me with enough work to keep me busy for less than six months over the past 3 years. Work that I used to do exclusively now comes in on a pallet, built elsewhere, for easy assembly and just-in-time integration. I'll admit that I should work abroad in order to prosper, but I kinda like my home state/family/friends.

excuse me my internet provider laid off a bunch of american now whenever i call with a problem it goes out to foreign soil where I can be able understand what the people are saying. That's a fact.
Another thing done by Administration to make it look like there are more jobs then there are is to change all of the restautants jobs to manufacturing. However waitresses minium wage wasn't changed it's two dollars and 15 cents an hour. These are facts not something that was changes or twisted to suit the moment.
