Why do so many people lack common sense and the ability to reason with facts and logic?

A question for the ages this one....the simple answer is they haven't ever been taught to, and if they have, they are just plain too freakin' lazy to think for themselves.

As for common sense like Thomas Paine said, "Nothing so uncommon as common sense."

Every one does not have the benefit of a logical, creative and thought provoking childhood. Then again some honestly can't reason logically because of medical reason and for those, help should be provided. In my experience i have learned not to reason with the unreasonable it is a waste of precious time. And I'm sure u have heard by now...common sense is not common.

Like so many of the evils in this world, it is because the parents just could not be bothered or did not know how to teach their kids to act otherwise.

And that's what's so sad; these people will go on to have children of their own and the whole sordid process begins again. So, so sad...

Because of our liberal school system that has removed anything resembling critical thought. Ask your average 15 year old about history or geography and you be impressed at the utter lack of knowledge.

Because doing so would often require people to take a hard look at themselves and the reasons why they do the things they do, which would lead to self improvement. Most people would rather not improve themselves, its so much easier to be ignorant.

Give them some time to mature. The male brain does not mature until 25 years of age.
