Commercial rug/upholstry cleaners (in my area) get about $60 to clean a chair and $80 to clean a sofa when they come to your home.

If you shop around the stores (Walmart, etc.) you can find shampooers that work equally well on both rugs and upholstry.

Ours is a Bissell "Little Green" unit. It cost about $75 but once you have it I'm sure you'll find lots of uses for it. Not only that, but you'll be able to clean spills immediately.

I'd look into one if I were you.
Simply "mopping" the spil/stain with a wet soapy cloth just doesn't work well at all. Much of the time it can drive the stain deeper.

Hope this helps.
