We are thinking about buying a home that is still under construction. It is 3500 sq. ft. with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. It is on 1.5 acres. It is in the Oak Ridge Terrace Community. We would like to know about the builder and also any other pertinent info about that area. It is in the 12401 zip code.
Any info would be a great help! Thanks.

If you are getting new construction, you will get screwed on your property taxes. The assessed value for property tax purposes will be based on the purchase price of the home. In NY state, you have to figure it will be approximately 2.5-3%.

When we purchased our home in Montgomery, it was new construction and our property taxes were more than double what our neighbor paid.
