My family and I want to move somewhere in the US (currently in FL) but dont not know where. Sounds strange I know but what we are looking for is a town with most convienances, lots of outdoor activities summer and winter, change of seasons, and family friendly. I would also need to be near a hospitol for work but other than that we keep going back and forth on differant states and such. Just looking for suggestions we have a few years before hubby retires and we can do this. THanks

If you want family friendly, four seasons, and outdoor activities as well as conveniences you should look to the west. Salt Lake City, Utah has all of the conveniences you could ever need, is located very near the outdoors (closest medium sized city to the mountains) providing snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, backpacking, camping, canyoneering and a whole host of other outdoor activities. There are many State, and National Parks within a few hours from the metro. The Salt Lake area also has many other cities and towns in its metropolitan area allowing one a small town feel, while being near to a large metro area.

There are also many hospitals and clinics within the metro area.

I would recommend the carolinas. Or maybe New England. You have the beaches in the summer and the change of seasons. In New england you have skiing. However it is expensive to live there. There are some areas in california and washington near mountains that have lots of activities and are supposed to be very beautiful.

How about NJ?
It meets all your requirements...
You got Mountain Creek for skiing/snowboarding, many campsites, the Jersey Shore (beach) in the summer. Atlantic City if you like to gamble. The seasons definately change here. Plenty of malls for shopping. We got cities, and suburbs depending on what you like. Plenty of hospitals (my mom is a nurse for 25yrs, and never had a problem finding a job). Oh, and you don't have to fill your own gas, like some other states make you (well, it's a plus for me =))

Sioux Falls, South Dakota...

We have all four seasons...a great family value system. Excellent schools and plenty of activities every season. Also 2 great medical facilites which are always seeking personnel. I know a great real estate agent up here if you want one too....
