Because you rub on the carpet or material of the seat when you get out; it's just like if you scuff your feet across a carpeted room and then touch metal.

There is no way unless you ground yourself to the vehicle every time you get in or you hover your feet to push the gas and brake and never touch the carpet

You rub your feet on the floor mat too much. i have this same problem in my honda civic. if you can't stop rubbing your feet on the ground just start closing the door by using the sleeve of your shirt or your foot if you have a short sleve shirt on.

i'll tell you how to get rid of it. screw in a rubber strap to the frame of your car long enough to touch the road. that will stop the static from shocking you.

your trailblazer really loves you and the shock is like postpartum depression for it. every time you leave it.
