They are doing more harm then good these days. A genocide or 3 goes on, and the world expects the UN to do something, but they don't. If the UN was dismantled, maybe some country would help (dare I say France, or Germany, or even Russia)

I don't think it should be dismantled. Even tho they can't do much as a whole body it gives a chance to have some beginning talks among a few countries that may later become top level talks with the top people in their respective governments.

It is not about what they do it is about the support they get and with no support they are like a lifeguard siting in a chair a thousand feet in the air with no way to assist a drowning victim . You know what is safe and how to save lives but you are prohibited to do anything more then shout information to others .If it is not used then the end result is people continue to drown regardless of the presence of the life guard .

Absolutly. It is worthless, and the main countries on the panel, after suffering from revolutions among a few, are now at ends with us, cannot agree, and will not stop the genocides. Something needs to be done in Darfur, and the UN wont do it. Hell, Bolton may have been the only one to make them, and he got the boot...

I think the UN is more of a social workplace then a real organization...
They will push out things they dont like, but they will not enforce it. SO what use is it???
Now they are complaining that the USA actually ENFORCED 1551 and other SC resolutions...

It was dismantled back in Rwanda after the Peace Keepers watched a million people get chopped up with machetes.
The problem is even though the UN was neutered they still get paychecks.

The UN is our HOPE. for a world democracy and as an American i believe in democracy. One country one vote.....IT IS TIME TO END WARS AND HAVE A WORLD POWER THAT CAN DECIDE ON ISSUES. and take certain people out of power and replace a government for the people.
