The APA states, "Denying Same-Sex Couples Legal Access to Civil Marriage is Discriminatory and Can Adversely Affect the Psychological, Physical, Social and Economic Well-Being of Gay and Lesbian Individuals." Do you agree or disagree? Please tell me why you feel that way?

i dont see what the problem is with allowing people to marry people of the same sex. its not hurting anyone so what the big deal. they dont get any breaks for being married so who cares. you can claim dependants on your tax's being single so what other advantages does someone being married get tahn someone not being married. i think the old school old people that are caught up in religion need to open there eyes and realize that the world has changed and honestly
two men carry the same last name
and two woman carrying the same last name...
...who cares???????????????
let em get married

even with the undeniable fact that i do no longer consider the way of existence, it may well be allowed by way of fact it particularly is a private count agreed to on the consent of two persons. in any case, it particularly is in comparison to all and sundry is being harmed. i think of everyone seems to be calling the incorrect question however. the real question would desire to be: is it the alternative of the state on who can get married or no longer? i think of no longer, that's only too lots involvement into some one's own existence. And back, as long as they are no longer forcing marriage on somebody, or an animal, then it particularly is non of our enterprise. They love one yet another, so enable this is.

Disagree. You Know there is only one reason this issue is disgussed so much today, because people are doing what they think is right. This is a flawed way to think. There must be a standard by which to measure what is right and wrong. That standard is the Bible. But America as a nation in general has chosen to ignore the Bible. Idolatry is still wrong but America has chosen to make that acceptable. Sex outside of marriage is wrong, but again is acceptable in America. Gay marriage is just next in a long line of things that are wrong, but America has chosen to embrace as acceptable. This is why Gay marriage is an issue. That is why eventually other things we view as right and wrong will eventually be big issues as well. For example: Murder, Theft, Rape, will all eventually be issues of big discussion. It wouldn't be an issue if we consulted God on the matter. The Bible says Sodomite marriages are wrong, God says even nature itself teaches against it. You don't see the birds, or the dogs, or the cats struggling with this decision! I don't care how a court rules, if God says it is wrong, then it is wrong, period! And for the earlier answer that said gay marriage isn't hurting anyone, you are wrong! I guess sex outside of marriage isn't hurting anyone, oh but wait we have babies raising babies, teenage pregnancies are up, and so are teenage abortions. Families are broken up over the issue, children are being improperly raised by kids who have no idea how to raise children. Teenagers are facing struggles that no "Daddy's little girl" should have to face. and who's gonna pay for it all, the dead beat teenage dad...no. How about the federal government, so let's raise taxes to pay for wic, molina, etc.! You see the affect that sin has on everyone! Sodomite marriages will be no different. To say that sin won't affect anyone is ignorant and selfish! Thanks for the question, I enjoyed it!

I agree. I don't see what the big deal is. Live and let live! And enforce the separation of church and state!

I can't imagine how bad it must feel to be in love with someone but not be able to symbolize that love like all straight couples can. It's just not fair or right.

There are plenty of straight married couples out there that have already disparaged the institution of marriage. It's not going to hurt to have more people that actually love each other get married!

I agree i think same sex marriages should be allowed because its unfair that two ppl who are in love shouldnt be able to marry because a couple of a**holes in political offices are offended by gay couples.

The APA can go blow it out its a$$. Marriage is between one man and one woman. Gay marriage will lead to polygamists demanding their rights (polygamy has been practiced for centuries by most religions. Then the pedophiles will be jumping up and down.

i agree. i feel that gays are oppressed. they should have the same rights as others. i think not allowing marriage is patently unfair. it affects health benefits for partners, immigration, and a million other rights that only 'married' folks can get.

I want everyone to find happiness. I agree.

Live and let live as the saying goes...so if any two people want to get married it is unconstitutional to keep them from marrying.

Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness baby!

disagree.

Our wedding vows stated "do you (name) take (name) to be your lawfully wedded husband and do you (name) take (name) to be your lawfully wedded wife.

The minister says, I now pronounce you Man & Wife.
