She owed 331.85 and only paid $60.00 in checks. She has admitted to me that she "borrowed" the funds and needs a few more days to turn it in. However the pack treasurer called her today for the money and she said she need a couple more days. This is not the first time she has done this. Last years dues and fundraisers still havnt been paid by her. What should we do?

not that you want to do this, but what they did is called stealing/embezzling. You could actually have her arrested.

Get a hold of the boy scout council in your area for advice on how to proceed. Its probably better handled by a representative who is paid by the council and not a volunteer like yourself.

While it won't help in this situation, one way to avoid this is to require that the Scouts collect payment when the order is taken, and that no products will be ordered unless they are paid for first. Then the issue becomes making sure that the items get delivered, but it is less tempting to steal popcorn, wreaths, etc. than it is cash. It is unfortunate that this happens but the majority of people are honest. Good luck in resolving your issue.

Just turn her in to the local cub scout council, and let them deal with her. I know that for Girl Scouts, you just fill out a form that says she owes money, and how much, and turn it in. Then they will go after her. Dont get stuck in the middle on this, just let the council do it.

Call the main council and they will prosecute her for theft.
