I have to get my face and neck threaded and waxed on a very regular basis (yes I am unlucky, but its for the good of mankind!!!).
On a more serious note - does anyone know if there will be any long term effects/damage to my skin as I am having to do this regularly??

I'm someone who used to thread my face and part of my neck every week for several years. I experienced NO side effects whatsoever, and I saw each hair being removed by the root. Unlike waxing, threading will never sag your skin even if you do it for a lifetime. The trick is to keep the thread as close to your skin as possible when you are removing each strand!

I have now opted for laser hair removal and completed only two sessions so far. Yet, I resort to threading when I have to remove hair from my feet. I do it by myself. You, too, can learn it easily from any Indian or Pakistani woman.

I don't think there are any long term effects. I got my eyebrows and lip threaded regularly and have heard it's safer than waxing because it does not remove the top layer of skin, only the hair. The only side effect might be some ingrown hairs, but you will ge that with any hair removal treatment that involves pulling out the hair.

no no no threading is attually less of a threat becoz it doesnt remove the top lair of skin...waxing well if you have thick skin no long term effects will happen but weak skin can attually suffer quite severly. i dont know your situation fully but here is sume signs to look out for...

1.skin starts to become irritant and or itchy.
2.no hairs appeare for a few weeks.
3. skin becomes drier and a slight yellowness appears

if you notice one or more of these sign you should go to your local doctor becoz its not healthyu but its not life threatining stuff so ill live :~) but most people think waxing is benifiacial becoz the hairs become finer...just stick with threading though alot safer!

good luck x
