Yes, they are pretty conservative, but times are changing. The elder generation is more the ones who try to keep tradition going and are definitely more old-fashioned (Koreans should marry Koreans, Women should not smoke, women should not drive, etc...). These days, the younger generation is opening up to the outer world and are definitely becoming more care-free...but of course their parents are not very proud of it...

i don't think that statement are true.
unlike japaniess people? yeah, they aren't that open to other cultures even though they've been in the states a lot longer than korean people, half of their language is english words, and they love korean culture more than i love yahoo answers.

what do you mean by "long sleeves"??? where do they wear these "long sleeves"?
i'm not sure you can say people are conservative cuz of their "sleeve length". i'm pretty conservative....but unfortunately, i wear "short sleeves".

they are the highest rate of people who will go for plastic surgery as early as 14years old (for beauty's sake)...so, i don't think so.
however, in japan & korea's working environment, they stressed alot from their staff to wear formal suit/ dress.
