It may need to be Defragmented, go to start, control panel, performance and matainence, should have the option to rearange items on your hard disk to make programs run faster, also you may want to free up space on your hard drive it will compress and delete old files that have not been used in a long time, find it under the same as disk defragement, both of these task take a long bit of time, best to shut every thing down and do it when you do not need the computer..... good luck

If the "CPU <-> Motherboard" match is good, you can max out the memory (by putting in as much as the motherboard can take), and plug in a broad hard drive, so that the system has a lot of room to play with. This will ensure stability and save problems in the long run. Then, you should thoughtfully pick the operative system. Choose an O.S. contemporary to the system (Of course, I mean that it doesn't neceserly has to be Window$!!!). Keep it clean and tidy up, and everything will be fine.

If you can get online, get a cache cleaner. The link below will be able get you thier. Then, find out what type of RAM (memory) you have and get more of it. Doing those things can dramatically speed up any PC.
