I doubt they cancel your medicaid unless he is making major loot. I wouldn't say anything to medicaid about the marriage until after you have the baby just to be safe. Just keep getting the medicaid card every month like you've been doing and keep quiet about it. That's what I'd do.

If your fiance makes more money than the limit, then if you get married, they may cancel your medicaid. Though if he makes decent money and has a job with health benefits, this may not be an issue for you. If he doesn't, you may need to think about what would benefit the baby more - you being married when he/she is born, or having health coverage so that the baby's needs can be met.

Getting married has no effect on your medicaid.
The amount of money in your household affects it.

Will your husband's income put you over the limit?
Find out what he makes before taxes and call your medicaid office. Tell your case worker what is going on. They can and should help you sort this out. You will probably be able to keep it.

If his income will put you over the limit and he doesn't have medical insurance that you can get, you have to consider your options. I'd hate for you to get into a situation where you didn't get the proper health care because you couldn't pay for it. It happens. Sometimes there are free clinics and sometimes there aren't. There are people who have had to wait to get married in order to have the birth paid for. It's an awful thing to happen.
I truly hope that everything works out for you. I'm sure it will.

If your combined income is more than what is allowed for you to qualify, then yes they can cancel your Medicaid. Call your case worker to find out what the income limitations are.

I don't know how it works from state to state, so you should talk to your case worker as soon as possible. It could be that they will now consider your husband's income as well as your own. However, when you're pregnant, I know that they are more leniant than when you are not.

DO NOT under any circumstance follow the advice to just not tell them anything. This is known as fraud and can get you some serious jail time. Talk to your case worker, tell them the situation, and see what they tell you.

I don't think they will cancle you. In ohio you get medicaid because you are pregnant. I remember that they didn't ask any question about my boyfriend or his income. When they baby does arrive you are then considered a family and your boyfriend gets medicaid also.

NO!

In fact they will never know just don't change your ID or anything.

When baby comes they ask you what names to put on birth certificate. You put your married name! Your medicaid will still be active!

normally when you are pregnant they won't cancel the medicaid..because they don't want you to lose coverage and have a medical mishap because of it! GOOD LUCK & CONGRATS
