You could ask the school nurse what they can and cannot tell your parents before you talk to them. With both juveniles and adults, people such as teachers, nurses, doctors, counselors, etc. are required to notify if the person is at risk to theirselves or someone else (ie suicidal or homicidal and have the intent of carrying these plans out). There are a lot of anonymus hotlines, depending on what your situation is, that could possibly help you. If it is something serious, it's really a good idea to tell your parents.

If you go to a doctors or chemist they're not allowed to tell anyone, however schools have different rules. I'm not sure if it applies to the school nurse but I know if you tell one of the teachers at our school something, there's a rule saying is they think it necessary they HAVE to tell someone else- be it a person of higher authority to them or your parents. However, I'm not sure if this rule is the same at every school and i do know that if you can talk to anyone at school and them not be allowed to tell it's going to be either the school nurse or the chaplain. So ask first, and good luck! =)

In the uk the nurse would have to decide if you had a good understanding of what was going on, minors can consent to their own treatment if they are seen to have that understanding. Confidentiality covers you unless it is a disclosure of something illegal/life threatening, ask before you speak to her just to be sure she has a duty of care to make sure you are ok.

If you are at risk to yourself, the school has to tell your parents, if you go to the nurse about birth control or similar issues, They cant, if you are in Canada from what I know. Maybe ask first what the policy is on disclosure.

I think they would keep it confidential unless you told them something very serious, like your parents have been abusing you or you are pregnant, then they would probably have to inform social services and your parents probably would find out.
If you live in the uk you should phone Childline they have the correct information andadvice for you.

i think, techincally, your mum doesn't have to know, but it's possible that the nurse will tell her if she considers it the right thing to do. you can't really control it, coz if she tells her then whats done is done. also if you require written documents (ie: prescriptions, birth control leaflets, etc.) i think you need your parents' consent if you are under sixteen.

No, they shouldn't be able to talk to her as it would breach patient confidentiality. the only excpetion to this is if you were going to do serious harm to yourself or others (eg, commit suiced or kill someone or something like that). Then they could speak to someone without your permission
