I've spent 15 years with the guitar, and still don't feel adequate. I learned to play the drums to most major songs on the radio in about 3 months.
That's just me, others may be different!

Drums was a much easier instument for me to learn as it is basically learning beats and such rather then chords, notes, scales. Drumming is just more about technique I would say.
