It says there is up to 1.5M download & 384K upload -is this fast?

Yep, we just got it also. After we had some local neborhood problems with embark internet service we are very happy with it's speed. prior, we had broadband and we switched to DSL because of cost. The speed and service is definitely better.

Well, I don't know embarq. But my Internet connections is 10mbps, and I'm still not happy about it.
If you're gonna use your internet for downloads, you better go for a faster connection or else your gonna regret your signup. If you're just using it for e-mail or just surfing the net for fun. Well be happy because thats gonna fill your thoughts!

It is reasonable fast. Fast however lies in the
view of the one using it. There're faster connections
and there's slower ones. For high speed it's in
the lower range of what's possible. But if it's fast
enough for you really depends on what you're
doing. For normal use it's sufficiently fast. If you
regularly download big files or share your connection
between multiple computers there might be better
plans.
