I will be attending this festival next year. Can someone shed some light on what kind of clothes to bring? are Jeans appropriate? or capris? I will be staying with some nice people and I don't want to look like the trashy tourist.
If there is anything else I need to know regarding this subject, please let me know!!
I appreciate your help!!

Well, my mother was from that part of Spain, but moved to the south of Spain being quite young; nevertheless, she always loved "Las Fallas" and used to watch them on TV; now it´s me the one who watches them on TV!! I have found this site which I think they are explained quite well, although I personally think that saying "Spain is a country known for unique and crazy festivals" is going too far. But anyway, hope you´ll find the answer.

This one is quite fine too:

About clothes: jeans are ok; everybody in Spain wear jeans and you have to take into account that during the celebration you will be outdoors for long hours; you´ll be visiting the site where every "ninot" is placed, so you need to be comfortable. If the people are that nice, take something more "formal", but it would be surprising that someone dressed up for that celebration.

Have fun!!

There is so much to say about Las Fallas that it is better you read about it.

go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falles

as far as clothes, you can wear jeans during the day. It will be no problem but also take some other casual clothes so as to have some variation. Also take a couple of sets that look smart in case you go out for dinner. People always bothers to dress up here when going out to a restaurant.
