FAITH is the confident belief or trust in person and HOPE is to wish for something with expectations.

Faith means nothing, you are in charge of your life. I was stationed at FOB Hope in the middle of Sadr city, aka the Bronx of Baghdad. Yeah, there are no troops there now. there were 200 of us, and the joke was it is called Hope because "we hope you survive" We were punded by bombs and mortars almost every day. We gave up Hope towards the end of my tour, and now Sadr city is the one place everyone is afraid to go. I guess Hope, even though it was almost completely destroyed everyday and we lost a soldier every 3 days, was the small little corner trying to hold us together.

Faith to me has strongly religious connotations; when this word is used in a religious context, I can't help but feel that it stands for "strong beliefs not grouned in reason".

Hope is just something we all possess and refuse to give up, probably up until the last breath. I think, to one extent or another, hope is what ultimately gets us up in the morning. Without hope - it all sucks, and then you die; life makes no sense.

This could be the beginnings of some serious dicussions .... Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we have not seen.
