You enter them in a cmd window

Go to Start->Run
Type in cmd and hit ok

A window will pop up. The commands are entered in that window.

"help" will get a brief list of the commands.

help followed by the command will get you information on a specific command

DOS= Disk Operating System
Dos is an early operating system that was stored on floppy disk. you could put a new disk in to have a new operating system on your computer.
MS Dos came around and they started to store them on the hard drive.
if you want a full list start your computer in MS dos mode and type help

some of the major commands are
Copy, edit, run, make dir, Dir(gives a list of all the files in a directory),

Also if you are asking what the file dos command is on your computer in your program list. It is the command promp select it and you will go to a dos prompt
