Used to have this problem doing data analysis at BT - never tried to exceed the limit, though, as we knew it was there. We imported the raw data (regularly over a million items) into Access, filtered out the 5% (if that!) we were interested in and then transferred it to Excel for detailled analysis (ie. drawing pretty but meaningless 3D graphs), which a manager could pretend to understand and then do nothing with.

Evidently, the new 2007 version of Excel is able to cope with a million rows!

yet differently to confirm that further rows are regarded is to have the totals on the ideal of the column fairly than the backside. There are 2 tactics of accomplishing this a million. In row 2 cellular =SUM($A$3:oblique("A"& COUNTBLANK(IV;IV))) 2. in an no longer important section enter =SUM(A:A) strengthen row a million and insert a text cloth field above the header in A1. decide on the text cloth field, then in the formula field enter =(cellular ref of SUM formula) alter text cloth field length to adventure your standards. there's no would desire to function extra rows, only insert archives in next clean cellular.

You get an error message telling you that the file is only partially loaded.

You may need to use Access instead.
