Gravity is a known fact, just like atoms in chemistry and DNA in biology. Unlike atoms or DNA, gravity has no known source. What causes two objects to attract each other?

According to the theory of general relativity, gravity is a fourth dimensional curvature of space-time caused by the proximity of very massive objects. All matter has gravity associated with it, and the range of attraction is infinite. Gravity is one of the four forces of nature, in this scientific paradigm.

According to the theory of quantum chromodynamics, gravity is the result of the interaction of 'gravitons' (a virtual particle) between atoms.

According to string theory, gravity is the result of a harmonic of interdimensionally bound sub-atomic 'strings'. Vibrations of various string types, at specific frequencies, give rise to quantum particles, which in turn give rise to atomic structure.

In short, this is still one of the biggest mysteries in science, with no definitive proof (yet) of what gravity really is.

gravity is a kind of force exerted on free falling bodies.for example if a ball is thrown up it returns to the ground because of the gravitational attractive force.

Its the force which draws all matter toward the source pulling it, and as with the rest of the cosmos, it remains the one true constant in terms of predictability. All material is subject to its "pull", only those materials that are developed to resist it are exempt.
