No.....read the following:

: There are no studies that provide conclusive evidence that tanning beds are harmful to the baby during pregnancy. UV light is not in direct contact with the baby, however the following are some things to consider. Most Ob/Gyn's and midwives do not advise any activity that will raise your body temperature in the first trimester such as hot tubs, saunas, and tanning beds, because overheating may be associated with spinal malformations in the baby. Interestingly, some studies suggest a link between UV rays and folic acid deficiency. Folic acid prevents neural tube defects, such as spina bifida. Folic acid is especially critical in the first trimester. After the first trimester, it may be ok to have 10-15 minute sessions as long as you are lying on your side or standing up to prevent restricted blood flow.

It Depends on The Type Of Tanning Bed, If Its A Cool Mist One You Can (Which By The Way Are The Most Expensive) All the Others Raise Your Body Temperature.

Absolutely not.

As an advid tanner I looked into it.

The most danger is early on before you know or look pregnant. The heat is very very dangerous to the baby. You're not supposed to overheat at all during the first trimester especially. It retards the fetus' development.

After that, the heat is still dangerous, but the tanning really makes any stretch marks you'll get waaaay worse, not to mention the ugly tan lines.

Wait until after youve had yoru baby. Once you're back to a more regular shape it will help with hiding stretch marks and feeling human again :)

it sucks giving it up, i went through the same thing.

The tanning salon owner told me that it was fine, but I think he just wanted to keep getting my money. I quit going tanning when I found out I was pregnant.

No. The ultra violet rays will harm your baby. Even going to the beach to try to get a tan it is recommended that you wear a high SPF sunblock. Sorry but while you are pregnant you are bound to be really white. lol. It is okay you will get used to it. I did. Good Luck to you and your new baby. And Congrats!

no, tanning beds raise body temps, which is harmful to the baby. Use a self tanner, they are safe.

This is unsafe. But I believe sunless tan lotions are ok. Double check first.
