I have a co-worker who always tries to one-man-up me everytime she gets. I noticed when I started working with her she some how got really close (on a personal basis) with the other women there. So whenever something didn't go her way, it was like; these are my friends not yours sort of thing. I even noticed it with every new person that came. Was it that she was talking behind my back to these people or what? Whenever someone had something negative to say about me, they always went to her and she would come back to tell me at the most opportune time. Why would someone feel comfortable talking about me to someone who was supposed to be my friend also? Am I just being paranoid or what?

Everyone thinks she is sweet as pie. She's always bringing things she's cooked from home, etc.

She is your coworker. Be polite, work with her, but she's not a friend, she's evil.
If she wants to talk, fine, but I'm sure everybody else realizes she's evil too.

She's an idiot. They aren't your friends, they're your co-workers.
