The main problem is that Oyster does not work on the mainline rail stations. Since most of South London is on this rather than the tube it is like a tax on South Londoners. It is sometimes cheaper to buy a one day travel card than pay a train fare, go into central london, use your oyster and then buy a train fare back.

The biggest problem on the tubes seems to be engineering work overrunning. Maybe they need more staff or more realistic timetables, but time and time again the tubes are delayed due to "engineering work".

During commuter periods they should strategise the tube to work out where people are going to and where it is busiest. They should then run shuttle-type tubes going only 2 or 3 stops to empty out the overload and come back for the rest rather than crushing everyone onto the platforms.

as more and more things use rfd tags, then the oyster cards will start to get confused. My football membership card uses the same system, and if they are in my wallet together, then neither one works properly. This will get worse.
