No, not him, but when he returned to Spain and left some of the
Spaniards in America, these people did atrocities to the natives
including rape, slavery and killing; when Columbus returned
he was furious and sad what his own people had done to the Natives. Not to mention they're the ones that brought venereal
diseases to the natives and most of all Chicken Pox

Yes. Columbus, along with the English, Spanish and French, committed genocide to conquer the Americas. The English enslaved and massacred Native American Indians in order to take over their lands. Similar to concentration camps, the English forced Natives onto "reservations," and moved those reservations to the most desolate and least desirable lands they could find.

The English massacred Natives civilian non-combatants and vice versa. (1)
The English and European Colonists wiped out the Natives with genocide and the spread of invader diseases. (2) The genocide occurred from: enslavement, war and violence, massacres, non-native diseases, and displacement (encamping and "reservations.)

the spaniards did. who knows what columbus' role was, other than to show them where all this new land to take by violence was.

he seemed to be an explorer, not a king or lord etc, with no military power.

IN THE TIMES OF COLUMBUS IT WAS NOT CALLED GENOCIDE. YOU CANNOT COMPARE MODERN THOUGHT PROCESS WITH THAT OF THE CONQUISTADOR. CALL IT PROGRESS OR CALL IT MURDER. EITHER WAY IT WAS NECESSARY FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE WORLD.
