This is for my wedding reception. So please give honest opinions. The lavender color of the shirt is not too light and not dark. Also, will any contrast color tie go with it? If yes, what color?

Thanks for all the answers till now. Here are some more details: The pinstripes on the suit not not very bright and very visible. They are not white as well. The pinstripes have very light shades of lavender and some other color (I don't remember right now). But the colors become visible only when some1 looks at it very closely. I hope this helps.

i would go with deep purple, or black ,,,, or else black with a matching lavender in it,,,,,,, cant really think of a contrast color that would match those two,,, and be formal enough for a reception,,,,,,,

I say skip the tie all together. Have the shirt's first button open and the collar showing outside the suit. This is a semi-formal look, but I think it's ok for a wedding reception. This does not usually work with white shirts, but since you are wearing lavender I think it'll look really good. -Meghana

A tie the same color as the shirt would look nice. If you want contrast then I would say black. I think if you find a tie the same color as the shirt, it would look classy.
Another option is to find a tie that is a shade lighter than your suit (gray) and has lavender stripes a shade lighter than your shirt. I would go lighter on the tie rather than darker.

I think you should consider picking a different color to wear with the suit. Match the shirt with the pinstipes and the tie with the suit in this case black.

Silver, Solid Black, Striped Black and Silver, same Lavender or lighter.
Anything else would contrast too much and draw attention to the tie...you want the bride to shine not your tie.

oh oh!!! either a nice darker purple tie or a black one, if the pinstriping is silver than a silver tie would look hot too, but i'm assuming the pin striping is white right? i would totally try a dark purple one tho

A nice gray tie
don't do stripes in your tie if you have pinstripes in the suit!

Grey would look great. The contrasting color for purple is orange so unless you went with a peachish orangy tie it would look really weird.

You could wear the same color tie as the shirt. That is ok.
