Elizabeth was correct but the important thing is there were many slave uprisings only a few got play!

Before the rebellion,Virginia had actually been discussing the abolition of slavery. The fear generated by the rebellion put an end to that and instead, more repressive measures were brought in. Even criticism of slavery was banned. So, in the end, the rebellion was counterproductive. The ultimate reaction was ensuring slavery would exist in Virginia for another 30+ years.
