I lost my mucus plug last night . Is this important to call the doctor when that happens? I do have a doctors appointment tomorow morning.I am 38 weeks pregnant.

Yes it is safe!!
you can lose you plug between a few hours and weeks before you will go into labor... The animo sac is still protecting your baby, lousing your plug just means your cervix is thinking about getting ready fo labor..
How ever if you think you have broken you water do not have sex, because that will increase your chance in an infection, and then call you doc. (you will be leeking clear fluid, that will not stop leeking if this occurs)

I probably wouldn't reccomend having sex after you lose the plug, it blocks out germs and bacteria. You usually lose the plug when you are about to go into labor, So watch for early sighns, and if it makes you feel better call your Doctors nurse and ask her what precautions if any that you should take.

You need to call your doctor. You shouldn't have sex after losing your mucous plug. If you do you run the risk of pushing bad bacteria up in your uterus and causing an infection.

Yes you should call your doctor when you lose the plug, and especially if your water breaks.
I was told as long as you're water hasnt broken you can have sex, although its a good idea to wear a condom incase you're dialated, to avoid infection, but so long as your water hasnt broke i dont think yo have to. Since its the hormones in the semen that encourages the uterus to contract and induce labor.

YES, it is safe to have sex after you loose your mucus plug.Its after your water breaks that you are NOT supposed to.Go to your appt and tell your Dr you lost your mucus plug. He/she will tell you to wait until your contractions are at least 5-7 min apart, or you can't bear them anymore, then go to the hospital! Make sure you are registered at the hospital, it will make hte process easier..
