I always wear gloves, polish or no polish. My hands tend to dry out when I wash dishes. I put some lotion on, slip on the gloves, and wash the dishes. The heat of the dish water helps the lotion seep into the skin and keep hands nice and soft.

I don't use the gloves cause they feel weird and I just don't like them.
I do however have a long handle brush to rinse dishes off that need to go in the dishwasher to avoid getting my hands wet and nails soft.

I always wear rubber gloves to wash the dishes, to me it makes it seem not quite such a nasty job.

I don't ever use rubber gloves. I have a clear protecter coat over it to help avoid chipping.
